Grader Operator (Road Construction)

You'll move earth, dig trenches and shape roads for the pipeline and trenching company in Kempton Park. If you turn up on time and finish what you start, you'll fit in quickly.

You'll report in Kempton Park. Relocation is not covered for this one. You'll start with a short induction before working on your own.

• Cut and trim road layers to level with the grader
• Load tipper trucks without spillage or overloading
• Do the pre-start checklist on your machine before the first bucket
• Park the machine on level ground and lock it when you knock off
• Dig trenches for pipes and cables to the depth and grade set by the surveyor

• At least 2 years operating the machine on construction sites
• Operator certificate for the machine class, from an accredited training provider
• Medical certificate of fitness for operating mobile plant
• Willing to work on projects outside your home town

• PrDP for tipper or lowbed work
• Basic plant maintenance or mechanical knowledge

• Travel home paid at the end of each site shift cycle
• Overtime paid on all hours past 45 a week
• Camp accommodation or a living-out allowance on remote sites

• Put your operator certificate numbers on the CV. Site safety files need them before you start.
• List each machine with its size, for example "20-ton excavator, 4 years". Plant managers match you to the machine they need.
