Guest Room Attendant (Lodge)

You'll turn rooms around at a boutique guesthouse in Isando so every guest walks into a room that feels new. If you learn fast and don't mind being shown things twice, you'll settle in within a few weeks.

Location: Isando, Gauteng. Applicants who already live in the area get looked at first. Start is planned for the beginning of next month.

• Vacuum, dust and check the minibar in each room
• Do evening turndowns, closing curtains and setting out slippers
• Keep your trolley stocked and neat before each shift
• Strip and make beds to the hotel's standard, hospital corners included
• Clean bathrooms, replace towels and restock guest toiletries

• Physically able to push trolleys and turn mattresses
• Well groomed
• Honest, since you work in guests' rooms alone
• Available on weekends, holidays and in peak season
• Quick and thorough, with a target of about 14 to 16 rooms a shift

• Staff accommodation at remote lodges
• Meals on duty from the staff kitchen
• Uniform supplied and laundered

• If you worked in a star-graded hotel, say which grading. It tells them the standard you already know.
• Write how many rooms you usually cleaned per shift. Head housekeepers care about pace as much as quality.
