Guest Room Attendant (Lodge) – Fixed-Term

Housekeeping at a game lodge in Umhlanga is steady work with room to grow into supervising. Someone who likes a bit of variety, but also likes doing things the right way, will enjoy this.

You'll report in Umhlanga. Relocation is not covered for this one. Weekend work is on a roster, so you won't be on every weekend.

• Strip and make beds to the hotel's standard, hospital corners included
• Load, wash, dry and press linen in the hotel laundry
• Report maintenance faults like dripping taps or broken lights
• Keep your trolley stocked and neat before each shift
• Vacuum, dust and check the minibar in each room
• Clean bathrooms, replace towels and restock guest toiletries

• Physically able to push trolleys and turn mattresses
• Well groomed
• Honest, since you work in guests' rooms alone
• Available on weekends, holidays and in peak season
• Friendly and polite if you meet guests in the corridor

• Experience with industrial laundry machines
• A hospitality short course or NQF Level 2 accommodation services certificate

• Share of the service charge or guest tips
• Uniform supplied and laundered
• Staff accommodation at remote lodges
• Meals on duty from the staff kitchen

• Mention seasonal availability for December and Easter. Coastal and lodge properties hire heavily before those peaks.
• Write how many rooms you usually cleaned per shift. Head housekeepers care about pace as much as quality.
