Guesthouse Housekeeper

You'll turn rooms around at a city business hotel in Hammarsdale so every guest walks into a room that feels new. If you learn fast and don't mind being shown things twice, you'll settle in within a few weeks.

You'll be based at a city business hotel in Hammarsdale. Living nearby, or on a taxi route to it, really helps.

• Log lost property with the guest's room number and date
• Do evening turndowns, closing curtains and setting out slippers
• Report maintenance faults like dripping taps or broken lights
• Clean lobby, lifts and public toilets through the day
• Work through a room list, marking rooms clean on the housekeeping board
• Load, wash, dry and press linen in the hotel laundry

• Available on weekends, holidays and in peak season
• Grade 10 or matric
• Friendly and polite if you meet guests in the corridor
• Honest, since you work in guests' rooms alone

• Previous hotel or guesthouse housekeeping experience
• Experience with industrial laundry machines

• Meals on duty from the staff kitchen
• Share of the service charge or guest tips
• Uniform supplied and laundered
• Staff accommodation at remote lodges
