Job Description

Good service at a sports bar and grill in Umhlanga starts with you: friendly, quick and on top of every order. It's a practical job: you'll see what you got done before you go home.

Home base is a sports bar and grill on the Umhlanga side of KwaZulu-Natal. Hours are mostly Monday to Friday, with the odd Saturday in busy months.

What your day looks like

Set tables, polish cutlery and glasses, and check condiments before doors open.
Take orders on the POS tablet and read them back to avoid kitchen mistakes.
Check back two minutes after mains land and fix problems on the spot.
Explain specials, allergens and wine pairings in plain words.
Clear, wipe and reset tables fast during the Friday and Sunday rush.

Must-haves

Happy to work nights, weekends and public holidays
Grade 10 or higher; matric is a plus
You can stand and walk for a full 8-hour shift
Quick with basic maths and card machines
Own transport or a safe way home after late shifts

Extra points for

Responsible Service of Alcohol training
A barista course certificate or latte-art skills
A second language such as isiZulu, isiXhosa or Afrikaans
