Job Description

Safety files, inspections and toolbox talks: this road construction project in Johannesburg CBD needs someone who can do all three well. If you like clear targets and knowing where you stand, this is for you.

Location: Johannesburg CBD, Gauteng. Applicants who already live in the area get looked at first. You'll start with a short induction before working on your own.

What you'll actually do

Audit subcontractor safety files before they start work
Compile and maintain the site health and safety file under the Construction Regulations 2014
Write and review risk assessments and safe work method statements
Run site inductions for every new worker and visitor
Track PPE issues and replace damaged equipment
Prepare monthly safety statistics for the client's agent

You'll need

You write clear reports in English
First Aid Level 1 at least
SACPCMP registration as a Construction Health and Safety Officer
Confident enough to stop unsafe work, even when the programme is tight
SAMTRAC or an NQF-accredited health and safety qualification
