Health and Safety Manager (Construction) – Immediate Start

Safety files, inspections and toolbox talks: this road construction project in Kariega needs someone who can do all three well. Bring a calm head on busy days and you'll be fine.

The work is in Kariega, Eastern Cape, so you'll need a reliable way to get there every day. There's a probation period of three months before the contract is confirmed.

• Run site inductions for every new worker and visitor
• Inspect scaffolds, excavations and edge protection daily
• Write and review risk assessments and safe work method statements
• Check that fall protection plans are in place for work at height
• Prepare monthly safety statistics for the client's agent

• First Aid Level 1 at least
• SAMTRAC or an NQF-accredited health and safety qualification
• Good understanding of the OHS Act and Construction Regulations 2014
• SACPCMP registration as a Construction Health and Safety Officer
• Confident enough to stop unsafe work, even when the programme is tight

• Diploma in Safety Management
• ISO 45001 internal auditor course

• Clear growth path to a construction health and safety agent role

• Laptop and data for reporting
