Health and Safety Manager (Construction)

The road construction project in Randburg needs a safety officer who is on the site, not stuck in the container office. You don't need to be the loudest person in the room, just the one others can count on.

You'll report in Randburg. Relocation is not covered for this one. You'll start with a short induction before working on your own.

• Run site inductions for every new worker and visitor
• Check that fall protection plans are in place for work at height
• Compile and maintain the site health and safety file under the Construction Regulations 2014
• Inspect scaffolds, excavations and edge protection daily
• Investigate incidents and near misses and report them on time

• You write clear reports in English
• Good understanding of the OHS Act and Construction Regulations 2014
• SAMTRAC or an NQF-accredited health and safety qualification
• SACPCMP registration as a Construction Health and Safety Officer

• Diploma in Safety Management
• Fall protection planner training

• Laptop and data for reporting
• Clear growth path to a construction health and safety agent role
• Paid SACPCMP renewal and CPD

• Put your SACPCMP registration number and category first. Many CVs without it are rejected without being read.
• Bring a sample risk assessment or safety file index you drew up (remove client names). It shows your work better than a list.
