High-Pressure Wash Operator

Industrial cleaners are always in demand; this crew works a mining workshop in Stellenbosch. If you learn fast and don't mind being shown things twice, you'll settle in within a few weeks.

You'll report in Stellenbosch. Relocation is not covered for this one. The first two weeks are spent shadowing someone experienced.

• Shampoo carpets and upholstery with an extraction machine
• Lock out machines before cleaning, as the safety file requires
• Clear builders' dust, paint and cement off floors and windows after construction
• Put out and check pest bait stations on the site map
• Store chemicals in the locked chemical store with safety data sheets

• Physically strong for wet, heavy work
• Able to pass a medical fitness check for plant work
• Reliable, as crews are small and each person counts
• Respect for chemical safety and PPE
• Grade 10 or better; you must read chemical labels and safety data sheets

• Chemical safety or HACCP hygiene training
• Pest control registration under the fumigation rules
• Working-at-heights or IRATA rope access ticket

• Full PPE: waterproof suits, boots, goggles and respirators
• Paid training on machines and chemicals
• Night-shift and standby allowances

• Put the machines and chemicals you have used at the top of your CV. Industrial cleaning companies hire on skills, not just willingness.
• Say you are available for night and shutdown work. That is when most factory hygiene cleaning happens.
