Job Description

Check-out to check-in in under an hour, room after room, at a conference hotel in Durban Central. You'll work with a small crew, so being easy to work with matters as much as skill.

Location: Durban Central, KwaZulu-Natal. Applicants who already live in the area get looked at first.

The work, day to day

Do evening turndowns, closing curtains and setting out slippers
Log lost property with the guest's room number and date
Report maintenance faults like dripping taps or broken lights
Load, wash, dry and press linen in the hotel laundry
Clean lobby, lifts and public toilets through the day

What you need

Grade 10 or matric
Available on weekends, holidays and in peak season
Friendly and polite if you meet guests in the corridor
Quick and thorough, with a target of about 14 to 16 rooms a shift

Extra points for

Previous hotel or guesthouse housekeeping experience
Speaking a foreign language for tourist guests
A hospitality short course or NQF Level 2 accommodation services certificate
