Housekeeping Supervisor (Boutique Hotel)

Housekeeping at a conference hotel in eMalahleni is steady work with room to grow into supervising. It's a practical job: you'll see what you got done before you go home.

You'll be based at a conference hotel in eMalahleni. Living nearby, or on a taxi route to it, really helps. Overtime comes up in peak season and is paid.

• Log lost property with the guest's room number and date
• Do evening turndowns, closing curtains and setting out slippers
• Clean lobby, lifts and public toilets through the day
• Work through a room list, marking rooms clean on the housekeeping board
• Vacuum, dust and check the minibar in each room
• Report maintenance faults like dripping taps or broken lights
• Keep your trolley stocked and neat before each shift

• Well groomed
• Physically able to push trolleys and turn mattresses
• Quick and thorough, with a target of about 14 to 16 rooms a shift
• Grade 10 or matric
• Honest, since you work in guests' rooms alone

• Previous hotel or guesthouse housekeeping experience
• Speaking a foreign language for tourist guests
• A hospitality short course or NQF Level 2 accommodation services certificate

• Staff accommodation at remote lodges
• Uniform supplied and laundered
• Meals on duty from the staff kitchen
• Share of the service charge or guest tips
