Housekeeping Supervisor (Boutique Hotel)

You'll turn rooms around at a beachfront holiday resort in George so every guest walks into a room that feels new. It's the kind of job where doing the basics well every day gets you noticed.

This post is in George (Western Cape). Please only apply if you can travel there daily. Most weeks are 45 hours, in line with the BCEA.

• Strip and make beds to the hotel's standard, hospital corners included
• Keep your trolley stocked and neat before each shift
• Report maintenance faults like dripping taps or broken lights
• Log lost property with the guest's room number and date
• Work through a room list, marking rooms clean on the housekeeping board
• Load, wash, dry and press linen in the hotel laundry
• Clean bathrooms, replace towels and restock guest toiletries

• Quick and thorough, with a target of about 14 to 16 rooms a shift
• Honest, since you work in guests' rooms alone
• Physically able to push trolleys and turn mattresses
• Well groomed
• Friendly and polite if you meet guests in the corridor

• Speaking a foreign language for tourist guests
• Experience with industrial laundry machines
• Previous hotel or guesthouse housekeeping experience

• Share of the service charge or guest tips
• Meals on duty from the staff kitchen
• Uniform supplied and laundered

• Mention seasonal availability for December and Easter. Coastal and lodge properties hire heavily before those peaks.
