Job Description

Housekeeping at a city business hotel in Johannesburg CBD is steady work with room to grow into supervising. This is a good step for someone who wants proper routine and a manager who notices good work.

The work is in Johannesburg CBD, Gauteng, so you'll need a reliable way to get there every day. The first two weeks are spent shadowing someone experienced.

What you'll actually do

Work through a room list, marking rooms clean on the housekeeping board
Log lost property with the guest's room number and date
Clean bathrooms, replace towels and restock guest toiletries
Clean lobby, lifts and public toilets through the day
Vacuum, dust and check the minibar in each room

What you need

Friendly and polite if you meet guests in the corridor
Grade 10 or matric
Well groomed
Physically able to push trolleys and turn mattresses

Nice if you have

Experience with industrial laundry machines
Speaking a foreign language for tourist guests
A hospitality short course or NQF Level 2 accommodation services certificate
