Housekeeping Supervisor (Boutique Hotel)

You'll turn rooms around at a conference hotel in Mamelodi so every guest walks into a room that feels new. If you learn fast and don't mind being shown things twice, you'll settle in within a few weeks.

This post is Mamelodi-based, with most of your time spent at a conference hotel. Start date: as soon as possible for the right person.

• Vacuum, dust and check the minibar in each room
• Do evening turndowns, closing curtains and setting out slippers
• Log lost property with the guest's room number and date
• Keep your trolley stocked and neat before each shift
• Clean lobby, lifts and public toilets through the day
• Report maintenance faults like dripping taps or broken lights
• Strip and make beds to the hotel's standard, hospital corners included

• Honest, since you work in guests' rooms alone
• Quick and thorough, with a target of about 14 to 16 rooms a shift
• Friendly and polite if you meet guests in the corridor
• Available on weekends, holidays and in peak season
• Physically able to push trolleys and turn mattresses

• Uniform supplied and laundered
• Meals on duty from the staff kitchen
• Share of the service charge or guest tips
• Staff accommodation at remote lodges

• Write how many rooms you usually cleaned per shift. Head housekeepers care about pace as much as quality.
• Mention seasonal availability for December and Easter. Coastal and lodge properties hire heavily before those peaks.
