Housekeeping Supervisor (Boutique Hotel)

Housekeeping at a game lodge in Montague Gardens is steady work with room to grow into supervising. Expect to be trusted with real work from your first week.

You'll report in Montague Gardens. Relocation is not covered for this one.

• Work through a room list, marking rooms clean on the housekeeping board
• Log lost property with the guest's room number and date
• Strip and make beds to the hotel's standard, hospital corners included
• Report maintenance faults like dripping taps or broken lights
• Vacuum, dust and check the minibar in each room
• Load, wash, dry and press linen in the hotel laundry

• Well groomed
• Physically able to push trolleys and turn mattresses
• Quick and thorough, with a target of about 14 to 16 rooms a shift
• Friendly and polite if you meet guests in the corridor
• Grade 10 or matric
• Available on weekends, holidays and in peak season

• Experience with industrial laundry machines
• A hospitality short course or NQF Level 2 accommodation services certificate

• Uniform supplied and laundered
• Share of the service charge or guest tips
• Meals on duty from the staff kitchen
• Staff accommodation at remote lodges

• Write how many rooms you usually cleaned per shift. Head housekeepers care about pace as much as quality.
