Housekeeping Supervisor (Boutique Hotel)

Housekeeping at a city business hotel in Montague Gardens is steady work with room to grow into supervising. Good for someone who wants to build a solid track record they can put on their CV.

The work is in Montague Gardens, Western Cape, so you'll need a reliable way to get there every day. There's a probation period of three months before the contract is confirmed.

• Clean bathrooms, replace towels and restock guest toiletries
• Work through a room list, marking rooms clean on the housekeeping board
• Log lost property with the guest's room number and date
• Do evening turndowns, closing curtains and setting out slippers
• Strip and make beds to the hotel's standard, hospital corners included
• Keep your trolley stocked and neat before each shift
• Clean lobby, lifts and public toilets through the day

• Well groomed
• Available on weekends, holidays and in peak season
• Honest, since you work in guests' rooms alone
• Quick and thorough, with a target of about 14 to 16 rooms a shift
• Physically able to push trolleys and turn mattresses
• Friendly and polite if you meet guests in the corridor

• Previous hotel or guesthouse housekeeping experience
• Experience with industrial laundry machines

• Uniform supplied and laundered
• Share of the service charge or guest tips
• Staff accommodation at remote lodges
