Housekeeping Supervisor (Boutique Hotel) – Permanent

You'll turn rooms around at a beachfront holiday resort in Phalaborwa so every guest walks into a room that feels new. If you learn fast and don't mind being shown things twice, you'll settle in within a few weeks.

The work is in Phalaborwa, Limpopo, so you'll need a reliable way to get there every day. Hours are mostly Monday to Friday, with the odd Saturday in busy months.

• Strip and make beds to the hotel's standard, hospital corners included
• Vacuum, dust and check the minibar in each room
• Clean lobby, lifts and public toilets through the day
• Log lost property with the guest's room number and date
• Clean bathrooms, replace towels and restock guest toiletries
• Do evening turndowns, closing curtains and setting out slippers

• Available on weekends, holidays and in peak season
• Friendly and polite if you meet guests in the corridor
• Honest, since you work in guests' rooms alone
• Grade 10 or matric
• Quick and thorough, with a target of about 14 to 16 rooms a shift

• Previous hotel or guesthouse housekeeping experience
• A hospitality short course or NQF Level 2 accommodation services certificate

• Staff accommodation at remote lodges
• Share of the service charge or guest tips
• Meals on duty from the staff kitchen
• Uniform supplied and laundered

• Write how many rooms you usually cleaned per shift. Head housekeepers care about pace as much as quality.
• Mention seasonal availability for December and Easter. Coastal and lodge properties hire heavily before those peaks.
