Housekeeping Supervisor (Boutique Hotel)

You'll turn rooms around at a beachfront holiday resort in Umhlanga so every guest walks into a room that feels new. Someone who likes a bit of variety, but also likes doing things the right way, will enjoy this.

You'll be based at a beachfront holiday resort in Umhlanga. Living nearby, or on a taxi route to it, really helps.

• Vacuum, dust and check the minibar in each room
• Work through a room list, marking rooms clean on the housekeeping board
• Load, wash, dry and press linen in the hotel laundry
• Do evening turndowns, closing curtains and setting out slippers
• Keep your trolley stocked and neat before each shift

• Friendly and polite if you meet guests in the corridor
• Available on weekends, holidays and in peak season
• Physically able to push trolleys and turn mattresses
• Honest, since you work in guests' rooms alone
• Quick and thorough, with a target of about 14 to 16 rooms a shift

• Speaking a foreign language for tourist guests
• Previous hotel or guesthouse housekeeping experience

• Uniform supplied and laundered
• Meals on duty from the staff kitchen
• Share of the service charge or guest tips

• Mention seasonal availability for December and Easter. Coastal and lodge properties hire heavily before those peaks.
• Write how many rooms you usually cleaned per shift. Head housekeepers care about pace as much as quality.
