HR Intern (Graduate Programme)

You'll keep staff files, contracts and HR admin in order at a retail distribution centre in Sandton. If you learn fast and don't mind being shown things twice, you'll settle in within a few weeks.

The site is in Sandton; early starts mean public transport timing matters, so check your route before applying. Overtime comes up in peak season and is paid.

• Book pre-employment medicals and qualification checks.
• Book training, track attendance and load results for the skills report.
• Prepare employment contracts, offer letters and confirmation letters.
• Enrol new staff on medical aid and retirement funds and process exits.
• Load job ads and do first-round CV sorting for the recruiter.
• Capture leave, sick notes and family responsibility leave on the HR system.

• Friendly and approachable with staff at every level
• Neat, organised filing habits
• Good MS Office skills, especially Word and Excel
• Basic understanding of the BCEA leave rules
• Matric plus an HR certificate, diploma or degree (or currently studying)
• Discreet with personal and medical information

• A clear route to HR officer after 12 to 24 months
• Study support toward an HR qualification
• Mentorship from a senior HR practitioner
• Monthly internship stipend for graduate roles

• In the interview, show you understand confidentiality with a clear example of how you would handle a sensitive file.
• Attach your full academic record; HR internships often filter on marks in labour law and HR modules.
