HR Officer (Private Hospital)

Keeping an open-cast mine in Gqeberha fair, legal and well staffed is the heart of this job. Someone who likes a bit of variety, but also likes doing things the right way, will enjoy this.

The work is in Gqeberha, Eastern Cape, so you'll need a reliable way to get there every day. There's a probation period of three months before the contract is confirmed.

• Handle grievances with notes, dates and a clear written outcome.
• Update HR policies when labour law changes.
• Consult with shop stewards and attend union meetings.
• Advise line managers on the Labour Relations Act and the BCEA.
• Run onboarding, contracts and probation reviews for new staff.
• Run exit interviews and report turnover each quarter.

• A degree or diploma in HR management, labour relations or industrial psychology
• At least 3 years as an HR officer or generalist
• CCMA experience, at least at conciliation
• Valid driver's licence for multi-site roles
• Confident facilitating hard conversations with managers and unions
• Solid working knowledge of the LRA, BCEA and EEA

• Skills development facilitator (SDF) training
• HR system experience such as Sage 300 People or PaySpace
