HVAC Service Technician (Office Buildings) – Immediate Start

You'll install, service and repair refrigeration and aircon systems across Tembisa. Good for someone who wants to build a solid track record they can put on their CV.

You'll be based at a cold chain logistics company in Tembisa. Living nearby, or on a taxi route to it, really helps. The first two weeks are spent shadowing someone experienced.

• Install split units, cassettes and ducted systems, including brazing and vacuum work
• Replace thermostatic expansion valves and electronic controllers
• Check chiller log sheets and water treatment on building service visits
• Commission new systems and show the client how to use the controls
• Pressure test with nitrogen, pull a deep vacuum and charge with R410A, R32 or R134a

• Understanding of single- and three-phase control circuits
• Brazing, flaring and vacuum skills you can demonstrate
• SAQCC Gas registration as an authorised person for refrigerants
• Comfortable on roofs and ladders in summer heat

• CO2 transcritical refrigeration experience in retail stores
• Experience with VRF systems or chillers

• Gauge manifold, vacuum pump and recovery unit issued to you
• Standby pay for weekend fridge breakdowns
• Manufacturer training on new equipment ranges
• Company vehicle with a fitted tool rack

• Your SAQCC Gas card must be current. Put the expiry date on your CV so nobody has to ask.
• Mention whether you are comfortable on standby. Most service jobs in this trade include it.
