Hybrid and EV Technician (Light Vehicles) – Immediate Start

You'll service, diagnose and repair cars in a busy used car dealership workshop in Gqeberha. If you turn up on time and finish what you start, you'll fit in quickly.

This post is Gqeberha-based, with most of your time spent at an used car dealership workshop. Weekend work is on a roster, so you won't be on every weekend.

• Write clear job card notes on what you found and what you fixed
• Keep your bay, tools and special service tools clean and counted
• Carry out scheduled services to the manufacturer's checklist and interval
• Coach the apprentice on your bay through basic services
• Replace clutches, brake pads, discs, shocks and timing belts

• Confident with diagnostic scan tools and wiring diagrams
• Your own basic toolbox
• Able to meet flat-rate or sold-hour targets
• Neat with customer vehicles: seat covers, floor mats and no grease marks
• Code 08 licence so you can road test cars

• Brand-specific training certificates from a manufacturer academy
• Automatic gearbox or DSG repair experience
• Air-conditioning regas experience with SAQCC Gas registration

• Productivity bonus on sold hours above target
• Pay at or above the motor industry bargaining council rates
• Manufacturer training courses paid by the dealer

• If you hit or beat your sold-hour target, say by how much. Workshop managers love that number.
• Do not leave gaps unexplained. Say if you were working for yourself or doing mobile repairs.
