Hybrid and EV Technician (Light Vehicles)

This fast-fit tyre and service centre in Khayelitsha needs a qualified mechanic who can handle services, repairs and electrical faults. You'll work with a small crew, so being easy to work with matters as much as skill.

Home base is a fast-fit tyre and service centre on the Khayelitsha side of Western Cape.

• Carry out scheduled services to the manufacturer's checklist and interval
• Coach the apprentice on your bay through basic services
• Carry out roadworthy pre-checks on lights, brakes and steering
• Diagnose engine, ABS and airbag faults with an OBD-II diagnostic scanner
• Keep your bay, tools and special service tools clean and counted

• Your own basic toolbox
• At least 3 years as a qualified mechanic in a dealership or workshop
• Able to meet flat-rate or sold-hour targets
• Neat with customer vehicles: seat covers, floor mats and no grease marks
• Confident with diagnostic scan tools and wiring diagrams
• Code 08 licence so you can road test cars

• Air-conditioning regas experience with SAQCC Gas registration
• Automatic gearbox or DSG repair experience

• Pay at or above the motor industry bargaining council rates
• Productivity bonus on sold hours above target
• Manufacturer training courses paid by the dealer
• Tool allowance or tool insurance

• Attach manufacturer training certificates. They can move you up a technician grade and pay band.
