Hybrid and EV Technician (Light Vehicles) – Experienced

Fix it right the first time: that is the job at this used car dealership workshop in Thohoyandou. Good for someone who wants to build a solid track record they can put on their CV.

Location: Thohoyandou, Limpopo. Applicants who already live in the area get looked at first.

• Carry out scheduled services to the manufacturer's checklist and interval
• Quote extra work you find and pass it to the service advisor for approval
• Carry out roadworthy pre-checks on lights, brakes and steering
• Write clear job card notes on what you found and what you fixed
• Coach the apprentice on your bay through basic services
• Diagnose engine, ABS and airbag faults with an OBD-II diagnostic scanner
• Road test vehicles before and after repairs

• Confident with diagnostic scan tools and wiring diagrams
• Neat with customer vehicles: seat covers, floor mats and no grease marks
• Motor mechanic trade test certificate (Red Seal) or occupational certificate at NQF 4
• Able to meet flat-rate or sold-hour targets
• Code 08 licence so you can road test cars

• High-voltage hybrid or EV safety training
• Automatic gearbox or DSG repair experience

• Pay at or above the motor industry bargaining council rates
• Manufacturer training courses paid by the dealer
• Tool allowance or tool insurance
• Productivity bonus on sold hours above target

• Attach manufacturer training certificates. They can move you up a technician grade and pay band.
• Do not leave gaps unexplained. Say if you were working for yourself or doing mobile repairs.
