Hybrid and EV Technician (Light Vehicles)

Fix it right the first time: that is the job at this used car dealership workshop in Tzaneen. People who do well here are steady, honest and not scared to ask when something is unclear.

Location: Tzaneen, Limpopo. Applicants who already live in the area get looked at first. Weekend work is on a roster, so you won't be on every weekend.

• Coach the apprentice on your bay through basic services
• Replace clutches, brake pads, discs, shocks and timing belts
• Update control unit software when the manufacturer releases a campaign
• Write clear job card notes on what you found and what you fixed
• Diagnose engine, ABS and airbag faults with an OBD-II diagnostic scanner

• Confident with diagnostic scan tools and wiring diagrams
• At least 3 years as a qualified mechanic in a dealership or workshop
• Code 08 licence so you can road test cars
• Your own basic toolbox
• Neat with customer vehicles: seat covers, floor mats and no grease marks

• Productivity bonus on sold hours above target
• Pay at or above the motor industry bargaining council rates
• Tool allowance or tool insurance
• Manufacturer training courses paid by the dealer

• Do not leave gaps unexplained. Say if you were working for yourself or doing mobile repairs.
