Hygiene Cleaner (Food Factory Night Crew)

Tough, messy cleaning at a newly built office block in Atlantis, paid better than ordinary cleaning. Expect to be trusted with real work from your first week.

The work is in Atlantis, Western Cape, so you'll need a reliable way to get there every day. You'll start with a short induction before working on your own.

• Clean drains and grease traps in commercial kitchens
• Shampoo carpets and upholstery with an extraction machine
• Store chemicals in the locked chemical store with safety data sheets
• Test sanitiser strength with test strips and record the reading
• Clear builders' dust, paint and cement off floors and windows after construction
• Lock out machines before cleaning, as the safety file requires

• Grade 10 or better; you must read chemical labels and safety data sheets
• Willing to work nights and weekends when plants shut down
• Physically strong for wet, heavy work
• Respect for chemical safety and PPE
• Able to pass a medical fitness check for plant work

• Pest control registration under the fumigation rules
• Experience using a high-pressure washer or carpet extractor

• Night-shift and standby allowances
• Full PPE: waterproof suits, boots, goggles and respirators
• Higher hourly rate than standard cleaning

• Say you are available for night and shutdown work. That is when most factory hygiene cleaning happens.
