Industrial Cleaner (Mining Workshop) – Entry Level

When production stops at a dairy processing factory in Epping, your crew moves in and cleans everything down. It suits someone who likes knowing exactly what a good day's work looks like.

This post is in Epping (Western Cape). Please only apply if you can travel there daily. There's a probation period of three months before the contract is confirmed.

• Put out and check pest bait stations on the site map
• Run a high-pressure washer on grease, oil and slurry build-up
• Clean drains and grease traps in commercial kitchens
• Foam, scrub and rinse walls, floors and conveyors with approved chemicals
• Clear builders' dust, paint and cement off floors and windows after construction

• Physically strong for wet, heavy work
• Grade 10 or better; you must read chemical labels and safety data sheets
• Able to pass a medical fitness check for plant work
• Reliable, as crews are small and each person counts
• Respect for chemical safety and PPE
• Willing to work nights and weekends when plants shut down

• Night-shift and standby allowances
• Full PPE: waterproof suits, boots, goggles and respirators
• Higher hourly rate than standard cleaning
• Paid training on machines and chemicals

• Say you are available for night and shutdown work. That is when most factory hygiene cleaning happens.
• If you hold a heights or rope access ticket, attach it. It can double what you earn in this line of work.
