Industrial Cleaner (Mining Workshop)

Industrial cleaners are always in demand; this crew works a poultry processing plant in Newcastle. Someone who likes a bit of variety, but also likes doing things the right way, will enjoy this.

The site is in Newcastle; early starts mean public transport timing matters, so check your route before applying. The first two weeks are spent shadowing someone experienced.

• Shampoo carpets and upholstery with an extraction machine
• Strip down and wash production equipment after the last run

• Clear builders' dust, paint and cement off floors and windows after construction

• Willing to work nights and weekends when plants shut down
• Not scared of heights for window or rope crews
• Able to pass a medical fitness check for plant work
• Respect for chemical safety and PPE

• Experience using a high-pressure washer or carpet extractor
• A Code 8 licence to drive the crew bakkie
• Pest control registration under the fumigation rules

• Night-shift and standby allowances
• Higher hourly rate than standard cleaning
• Paid training on machines and chemicals

• If you hold a heights or rope access ticket, attach it. It can double what you earn in this line of work.
