Industrial Electrician (Factory Maintenance) – Experienced

Got your trade test and a steady hand on a DB board? This shopfitting and retail fit-out firm in Isando needs you on the tools. It suits someone who likes knowing exactly what a good day's work looks like.

The site is in Isando; early starts mean public transport timing matters, so check your route before applying. Hours are mostly Monday to Friday, with the odd Saturday in busy months.

• Test installations and issue Certificates of Compliance where your registration allows
• Install inverters, battery banks and changeover switches for backup power clients
• Replace faulty light fittings, plugs, geyser elements and thermostats
• Read electrical layouts and mark out point positions before chasing walls
• Quote small jobs for clients and explain the fault in plain language
• Install and wire distribution boards, isolators and earth leakage units to SANS 10142-1
• Fault-find tripping circuits with a multimeter, insulation tester and loop tester

• At least 3 years working as a qualified electrician after your trade test
• Registered with the Department of Employment and Labour as an Installation Electrician or holding a Wireman's licence
• Your own basic hand tools and a calibrated multimeter
• Valid Code 08 driver's licence

• Working at Heights certificate still in date
• PLC and motor control experience from a factory setting

• Company-issued test instruments, calibrated every year
• Overtime paid at time-and-a-half on weekends
• Standby allowance when you are on the after-hours roster
• Company bakkie for call-outs and travel between sites

• List two or three recent jobs with sizes, like a 60-point house rewire or a 10 kVA inverter install. It shows your level quickly.
