Industrial Electrician (Factory Maintenance)

The solar and backup power installer in Middelburg (MP) needs a qualified electrician who can work neatly and sign off safe installations. You'll work with a small crew, so being easy to work with matters as much as skill.

Home base is a solar and backup power installer on the Middelburg (MP) side of Mpumalanga.

• Test installations and issue Certificates of Compliance where your registration allows
• Install and wire distribution boards, isolators and earth leakage units to SANS 10142-1
• Terminate armoured cable and fit glands on three-phase motor supplies
• Supervise and teach an electrical assistant or apprentice on site
• Fault-find tripping circuits with a multimeter, insulation tester and loop tester
• Install inverters, battery banks and changeover switches for backup power clients

• Solid working knowledge of SANS 10142-1 and the Electrical Installation Regulations
• Your own basic hand tools and a calibrated multimeter
• Registered with the Department of Employment and Labour as an Installation Electrician or holding a Wireman's licence
• Comfortable working at heights on ladders and in roof spaces
• Clean criminal record, since you will work inside client homes

• If you have issued CoCs before, say how many and for what type of property.
