Industrial Electrician (Factory Maintenance)

This is hands-on electrical work in Mokopane: new installs, repairs and CoCs that pass the first time. It suits someone who likes knowing exactly what a good day's work looks like.

You'll report in Mokopane. Relocation is not covered for this one. Most weeks are 45 hours, in line with the BCEA.

• Test installations and issue Certificates of Compliance where your registration allows
• Install and wire distribution boards, isolators and earth leakage units to SANS 10142-1
• Complete job cards, material lists and test reports at the end of each job
• Terminate armoured cable and fit glands on three-phase motor supplies
• Read electrical layouts and mark out point positions before chasing walls
• Lock out and tag out circuits before any work on live equipment

• Your own basic hand tools and a calibrated multimeter
• Comfortable working at heights on ladders and in roof spaces
• At least 3 years working as a qualified electrician after your trade test
• Clean criminal record, since you will work inside client homes
• Solid working knowledge of SANS 10142-1 and the Electrical Installation Regulations
• Electrical trade test certificate (Section 13 or 26D) through a QCTO-accredited centre

• Solar PV installation training and experience with hybrid inverters
• Working at Heights certificate still in date

• Company-issued test instruments, calibrated every year
• Standby allowance when you are on the after-hours roster
• Company bakkie for call-outs and travel between sites

• Many applicants forget to attach the trade test certificate itself. Recruiters often skip CVs that only mention it.
