Job Description

You'll wire, fault-find and certify installations for the facilities management company in Phalaborwa. Someone who likes a bit of variety, but also likes doing things the right way, will enjoy this.

This post is in Phalaborwa (Limpopo). Please only apply if you can travel there daily.

What your day looks like

Test installations and issue Certificates of Compliance where your registration allows
Install and wire distribution boards, isolators and earth leakage units to SANS 10142-1
Replace faulty light fittings, plugs, geyser elements and thermostats
Read electrical layouts and mark out point positions before chasing walls
Terminate armoured cable and fit glands on three-phase motor supplies

You'll need

Comfortable working at heights on ladders and in roof spaces
Your own basic hand tools and a calibrated multimeter
Electrical trade test certificate (Section 13 or 26D) through a QCTO-accredited centre
Registered with the Department of Employment and Labour as an Installation Electrician or holding a Wireman's licence
Valid Code 08 driver's licence
Clean criminal record, since you will work inside client homes
