Infection Control Cleaner

Careful, trained cleaners are wanted at a community health clinic in Bethlehem. It's the kind of job where doing the basics well every day gets you noticed.

The work is in Bethlehem, Free State, so you'll need a reliable way to get there every day. The first two weeks are spent shadowing someone experienced.

• Mop spills of blood or fluids using the spill kit
• Do terminal cleans of isolation rooms after a patient is discharged
• Fill in cleaning logs so infection control can audit the ward

• Move patients' belongings and equipment when rooms change

• Calm under pressure in busy wards
• Up to date with vaccinations the hospital requires, such as hepatitis B
• Respectful and discreet around patients
• Able to work shifts including weekends and night duty
• Not squeamish about blood, vomit or medical waste
• Matric or Grade 11

• Previous hospital or clinic cleaning experience
• An infection prevention and control short course
