Installation Electrician (Wireman's Licence)

You'll wire, fault-find and certify installations for the facilities management company in Germiston. You'll work with a small crew, so being easy to work with matters as much as skill.

You'll be based at a facilities management company in Germiston. Living nearby, or on a taxi route to it, really helps.

• Install and wire distribution boards, isolators and earth leakage units to SANS 10142-1
• Supervise and teach an electrical assistant or apprentice on site
• Install inverters, battery banks and changeover switches for backup power clients
• Run conduit, trunking and cable tray on new builds and renovations
• Fault-find tripping circuits with a multimeter, insulation tester and loop tester
• Terminate armoured cable and fit glands on three-phase motor supplies

• Valid Code 08 driver's licence
• Your own basic hand tools and a calibrated multimeter
• Clean criminal record, since you will work inside client homes
• At least 3 years working as a qualified electrician after your trade test
• Registered with the Department of Employment and Labour as an Installation Electrician or holding a Wireman's licence

• Master Installation Electrician registration for three-phase CoCs
• PLC and motor control experience from a factory setting

• Standby allowance when you are on the after-hours roster

• Overtime paid at time-and-a-half on weekends
