Installation Electrician (Wireman's Licence)

Got your trade test and a steady hand on a DB board? This solar and backup power installer in Isando needs you on the tools. If you learn fast and don't mind being shown things twice, you'll settle in within a few weeks.

You'll report in Isando. Relocation is not covered for this one. Hours are mostly Monday to Friday, with the odd Saturday in busy months.

• Fault-find tripping circuits with a multimeter, insulation tester and loop tester
• Complete job cards, material lists and test reports at the end of each job
• Supervise and teach an electrical assistant or apprentice on site
• Run conduit, trunking and cable tray on new builds and renovations
• Test installations and issue Certificates of Compliance where your registration allows
• Read electrical layouts and mark out point positions before chasing walls

• Electrical trade test certificate (Section 13 or 26D) through a QCTO-accredited centre
• At least 3 years working as a qualified electrician after your trade test
• Clean criminal record, since you will work inside client homes
• Solid working knowledge of SANS 10142-1 and the Electrical Installation Regulations
• Registered with the Department of Employment and Labour as an Installation Electrician or holding a Wireman's licence
• Valid Code 08 driver's licence

• Company-issued test instruments, calibrated every year
• Standby allowance when you are on the after-hours roster
• Overtime paid at time-and-a-half on weekends
• Provident fund and group risk cover after probation
