Intermediate Phase Teacher (Grade 5)

You'll plan and teach CAPS lessons that stick at a rural combined school in Kimberley. It suits someone who likes knowing exactly what a good day's work looks like.

Home base is a rural combined school on the Kimberley side of Northern Cape.

• Supervise break duty, sport or a cultural activity each term
• Handle classroom discipline with the school's code of conduct
• Capture marks on SA-SAMS or the school's reporting platform before deadlines
• Meet parents to discuss progress, behaviour and support plans
• Teach your allocated classes and keep the pace of the ATP
• Give extra lessons to learners who are falling behind

• A B.Ed, or a degree plus PGCE, in the phase and subject you'll teach
• Sound knowledge of CAPS and the assessment policy for your phase
• At least 1 year of classroom teaching, including teaching practice
• You can manage a class of 35 or more without losing control
• Good spoken and written command of the language of teaching
• Full SACE registration (provisional registration only for student or newly qualified teachers)

• Experience marking for the NSC or IEB
• Honours degree in your subject or in education management
