IT Intern (Support Desk)

A managed IT services provider in Springs needs a calm tech who can help frustrated users get back to work. If you turn up on time and finish what you start, you'll fit in quickly.

You'll be based at a managed IT services provider in Springs. Living nearby, or on a taxi route to it, really helps. Overtime comes up in peak season and is paid.

• Reset passwords and unlock accounts in Active Directory and Entra ID
• Visit branches or sites to fix issues that need hands on the machine
• Replace faulty hardware and log warranty claims with suppliers
• Escalate network and server faults to second or third line with good notes
• Image, set up and hand over new laptops and desktops

• Basic networking: IP addresses, DNS, DHCP and Wi-Fi
• Patient and friendly with non-technical users
• At least 1 year of help desk or desktop support (not needed for intern posts)
• Matric plus an IT qualification, such as CompTIA A+ or an IT diploma
• Working knowledge of Windows 10 and 11 and Microsoft 365
• Code B driver's licence and own car for field posts

• CompTIA Network+ or Microsoft MD-102 certification
• Experience supporting point-of-sale or medical devices

• Company laptop and cellphone
• Travel allowance for field technicians
• Paid certification exams after probation

• Be ready for a practical test on a real laptop or a phone troubleshooting role-play.
