Job Description

A logistics software company in Epping needs a developer who can take a ticket from idea to production. It's the kind of job where doing the basics well every day gets you noticed.

Home base is a logistics software company on the Epping side of Western Cape.

What your day looks like

Write, test and refactor code in your team's main language
Review teammates' pull requests with useful comments
Document how your features work for support and new developers
Deploy through a CI/CD pipeline on Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions or GitLab
Design database tables and write efficient SQL queries
Pair with junior developers to unblock them
Pick up tickets from the sprint board and estimate the work

You'll need

A computer science or IT qualification, or a portfolio that proves you can build
You can explain technical choices to non-technical people
Good SQL and understanding of relational databases
Stable internet and a quiet workspace for remote days
Solid Git habits: branches, pull requests and meaningful commit messages

Helpful, not essential

Docker and Kubernetes experience
Knowledge of secure coding and the OWASP Top 10
