Java Developer (Banking Systems)

Here your code runs in production, not in a drawer: an e-commerce platform in Randburg. It's a practical job: you'll see what you got done before you go home.

This post is Randburg-based, with most of your time spent at an e-commerce platform. Weekend work is on a roster, so you won't be on every weekend.

• Join daily stand-ups and sprint planning
• Design database tables and write efficient SQL queries
• Pick up tickets from the sprint board and estimate the work
• Investigate production bugs using logs and monitoring dashboards
• Pair with junior developers to unblock them
• Write, test and refactor code in your team's main language
• Build and consume REST or GraphQL APIs

• A computer science or IT qualification, or a portfolio that proves you can build
• Solid Git habits: branches, pull requests and meaningful commit messages
• Good SQL and understanding of relational databases
• Stable internet and a quiet workspace for remote days
• Commercial experience in at least one of PHP, C#, Java, Python or JavaScript

• Experience in regulated sectors such as banking or medical schemes
• Docker and Kubernetes experience
• Cloud certification on AWS, Azure or Google Cloud
