Job Description

Build the SQL, models and dashboards that run the weekly meeting at a microlender in Benoni. Bring a calm head on busy days and you'll be fine.

This post is in Benoni (Gauteng). Please only apply if you can travel there daily. Weekend work is on a roster, so you won't be on every weekend.

The work, day to day

Present findings to managers in plain language with clear charts
Meet business users to turn their questions into report requirements
Mask or remove personal information in data sets under POPIA
Automate weekly reports that used to take hours in Excel
Build ETL pipelines in SSIS, Azure Data Factory or Python
Build and maintain Power BI dashboards and data models
Check data quality and trace odd numbers back to the source

You'll need

Hands-on Power BI, Tableau or a similar tool
Able to explain what the numbers mean, not just show them
Degree in statistics, maths, computer science, economics or a related field
Advanced Excel

Helpful, not essential

Microsoft PL-300 Power BI Data Analyst certification
Python with pandas for data wrangling
