Junior Quantity Surveyor (Private Practice)

This is a numbers job with boots on: bills of quantities, site measurements and payment claims in eMalahleni. Expect to be trusted with real work from your first week.

You'll be based at a civils and earthworks contractor in eMalahleni. Living nearby, or on a taxi route to it, really helps. Start is planned for the beginning of next month.

• Use measuring software to do take-offs from PDF and CAD drawings
• Value variations and prepare claims under JBCC or GCC conditions
• Prepare the final account at the end of the project
• Update cash flow forecasts for the project manager
• Get quotes from subcontractors and compare them line by line

• Strong Excel skills, including formulas and pivot tables
• Accurate with numbers and able to back up every figure you certify
• Code 08 licence for site visits
• Understanding of JBCC Principal Building Agreement clauses

• Estimating software experience on top of Excel
• Honours degree in Quantity Surveying

• Hybrid days in the office and on site
• Study support for an honours degree
• Paid SACQSP registration fees and CPD courses
