Junior Quantity Surveyor (Private Practice)

Make sure every rand on site is counted, claimed and certified for the quantity surveying practice in Epping. It's a practical job: you'll see what you got done before you go home.

You'll report in Epping. Relocation is not covered for this one. There's a probation period of three months before the contract is confirmed.

• Update cash flow forecasts for the project manager
• Price tenders using supplier quotes, labour rates and plant costs
• Track budget against actual cost and flag overruns early
• Use measuring software to do take-offs from PDF and CAD drawings
• Get quotes from subcontractors and compare them line by line

• At least 3 years of QS work in private practice or with a contractor
• BSc, BTech or Diploma in Quantity Surveying
• Understanding of JBCC Principal Building Agreement clauses
• Strong Excel skills, including formulas and pivot tables
• Code 08 licence for site visits

• SACQSP registration as a Professional or Candidate QS
• Experience with civil bills using the SANS 1200 standard
• Honours degree in Quantity Surveying
