Junior Quantity Surveyor (Private Practice)

This is a numbers job with boots on: bills of quantities, site measurements and payment claims in Germiston. This is a good step for someone who wants proper routine and a manager who notices good work.

The work is in Germiston, Gauteng, so you'll need a reliable way to get there every day.

• Value variations and prepare claims under JBCC or GCC conditions
• Prepare the final account at the end of the project
• Update cash flow forecasts for the project manager
• Measure work on site for monthly interim payment certificates
• Draft subcontract agreements and payment schedules
• Get quotes from subcontractors and compare them line by line
• Price tenders using supplier quotes, labour rates and plant costs

• Code 08 licence for site visits
• BSc, BTech or Diploma in Quantity Surveying
• Understanding of JBCC Principal Building Agreement clauses
• Strong Excel skills, including formulas and pivot tables
• At least 3 years of QS work in private practice or with a contractor

• SACQSP registration as a Professional or Candidate QS
• Estimating software experience on top of Excel

• Travel allowance for site visits
• Paid SACQSP registration fees and CPD courses
• Hybrid days in the office and on site
• Study support for an honours degree
