Junior Safety Officer (Housing Projects)

The high-rise residential project in Midrand needs a safety officer who is on the site, not stuck in the container office. Someone who likes a bit of variety, but also likes doing things the right way, will enjoy this.

Home base is a high-rise residential project on the Midrand side of Gauteng.

• Write and review risk assessments and safe work method statements
• Check that fall protection plans are in place for work at height
• Hold toolbox talks on topics that match the week's work
• Run site inductions for every new worker and visitor
• Track PPE issues and replace damaged equipment

• You write clear reports in English
• First Aid Level 1 at least
• Good understanding of the OHS Act and Construction Regulations 2014
• Confident enough to stop unsafe work, even when the programme is tight

• Travel and site allowances
• Laptop and data for reporting
• Paid SACPCMP renewal and CPD
• Clear growth path to a construction health and safety agent role

• Bring a sample risk assessment or safety file index you drew up (remove client names). It shows your work better than a list.
• Name the kind of projects you have covered, like roads, housing or wind farms. Clients want sector experience.
