Job Description

Write clean code, review pull requests and fix what breaks at a software development house in Brackenfell. Good for someone who wants to build a solid track record they can put on their CV.

You'll be based at a software development house in Brackenfell. Living nearby, or on a taxi route to it, really helps. The first two weeks are spent shadowing someone experienced.

The work, day to day

Investigate production bugs using logs and monitoring dashboards
Join daily stand-ups and sprint planning
Pair with junior developers to unblock them
Write unit and integration tests before you merge
Review teammates' pull requests with useful comments
Design database tables and write efficient SQL queries

Must-haves

Commercial experience in at least one of PHP, C#, Java, Python or JavaScript
Solid Git habits: branches, pull requests and meaningful commit messages
You can explain technical choices to non-technical people
A computer science or IT qualification, or a portfolio that proves you can build
Good SQL and understanding of relational databases
Stable internet and a quiet workspace for remote days

Extra points for

Cloud certification on AWS, Azure or Google Cloud
Public GitHub portfolio or published app
Experience in regulated sectors such as banking or medical schemes
