Job Description

You'll cook fast, clean food on the line at a wood-fired pizzeria in Bloemfontein. If you like clear targets and knowing where you stand, this is for you.

Home base is a wood-fired pizzeria on the Bloemfontein side of Free State.

What your day looks like

Label, date and rotate stock using first-in, first-out.
Clean down your section, deep-clean the fryer and scrub the extractor filters.
Log fridge and freezer temperatures twice a shift on the HACCP sheet.
Help cost recipes and track waste on the weekly sheet.
Run your station during service and call back every ticket from the pass.
Cook for banquets and conference lunches of 100 to 400 guests.
Cook steaks, burgers and grills to the temperature on the docket.

You'll need

Comfortable in heat, on your feet, for long split shifts
You take instruction from the head chef without drama
Weekend, holiday and evening work is part of the deal
You know food safety basics under R638 and HACCP
1 to 3 years in a busy commercial kitchen
Good knife skills and you can prep at speed

Helpful, not essential

Halaal or kosher kitchen experience
Pastry or bakery training
A food safety certificate from a registered training provider
