Laundry Attendant (Hotel Linen Room) – Permanent

You'll turn rooms around at a game lodge in Atlantis so every guest walks into a room that feels new. It's the kind of job where doing the basics well every day gets you noticed.

This post is Atlantis-based, with most of your time spent at a game lodge. Hours are mostly Monday to Friday, with the odd Saturday in busy months.

• Keep your trolley stocked and neat before each shift
• Load, wash, dry and press linen in the hotel laundry
• Log lost property with the guest's room number and date
• Report maintenance faults like dripping taps or broken lights
• Strip and make beds to the hotel's standard, hospital corners included
• Clean lobby, lifts and public toilets through the day
• Clean bathrooms, replace towels and restock guest toiletries

• Grade 10 or matric
• Well groomed
• Friendly and polite if you meet guests in the corridor
• Quick and thorough, with a target of about 14 to 16 rooms a shift

• Meals on duty from the staff kitchen
• Share of the service charge or guest tips
• Staff accommodation at remote lodges

• Write how many rooms you usually cleaned per shift. Head housekeepers care about pace as much as quality.
• If you worked in a star-graded hotel, say which grading. It tells them the standard you already know.
