Job Description

Housekeeping at a boutique guesthouse in Fourways is steady work with room to grow into supervising. If you learn fast and don't mind being shown things twice, you'll settle in within a few weeks.

This post is Fourways-based, with most of your time spent at a boutique guesthouse. Hours are mostly Monday to Friday, with the odd Saturday in busy months.

The work, day to day

Strip and make beds to the hotel's standard, hospital corners included
Load, wash, dry and press linen in the hotel laundry
Log lost property with the guest's room number and date
Keep your trolley stocked and neat before each shift
Work through a room list, marking rooms clean on the housekeeping board
Vacuum, dust and check the minibar in each room

You'll need

Grade 10 or matric
Well groomed
Available on weekends, holidays and in peak season
Physically able to push trolleys and turn mattresses
Friendly and polite if you meet guests in the corridor

Helpful, not essential

Experience with industrial laundry machines
A hospitality short course or NQF Level 2 accommodation services certificate
