Laundry Attendant (Lodge)

You'll clean and set up guest rooms at a self-catering resort in Mossel Bay to a checklist standard. It suits someone who likes knowing exactly what a good day's work looks like.

Home base is a self-catering resort on the Mossel Bay side of Western Cape.

• Update room status on the housekeeping app or board after each room.
• Restock minibars, amenities and tea trays and note what was used.
• Vacuum, mop and dust rooms from top to bottom.
• Clean bathrooms, showers and toilets with the correct colour-coded cloths.
• Wash, dry and press linen and table cloths in the laundry.
• Mix chemicals safely and store them as the MSDS sheet shows.
• Strip beds, make them up with fresh linen and square the corners.

• Honest and trustworthy around guest belongings
• Weekend and public holiday work
• You work neatly and notice a hair on a pillow
• Hotel, guesthouse or domestic cleaning experience
• Grade 10 or higher
• You can finish around 14 rooms in a shift

• Laundry machine and steam press experience
• Basic first aid certificate
• A supervisor course or time spent running a floor

• Monthly award for best room scores
• Staff transport from nearby townships for early shifts
• Uniform and protective gloves supplied

• Write how many rooms per shift you managed at your last job; supervisors look for that number.
• Many hotels recruit through walk-ins at the staff entrance, so ask for the housekeeping office and leave your CV there.
