Job Description

Stand in front of a class of adults at a private higher education college in Midrand and make the work make sense. You'll work with a small crew, so being easy to work with matters as much as skill.

This post is Midrand-based, with most of your time spent at a private higher education college.

What your day looks like

  • Keep attendance registers and learner files ready for SETA verification
  • Moderate other assessors' decisions and sign off moderation reports
  • Run practical demonstrations in the workshop with safety briefings
  • Give feedback on course materials so the next intake runs better
  • Assess portfolios of evidence and write clear feedback to learners
  • Sit in on workplace visits to confirm learners are doing real tasks
  • Load learner results onto the SETA or QCTO system

You'll need

  • At least 3 years of working experience in the subject field
  • Relevant qualification at least one NQF level above the one you'll teach
  • Own transport for training at client sites
  • Computer literate in Word, Excel and PowerPoint

Nice if you have

  • Teaching qualification or Higher Certificate in adult education
  • Experience with learning management systems such as Moodle

What's in it for you

  • Holiday breaks between intakes at colleges
  • Travel allowance or company car for site training
  • Day-rate contracts with steady bookings
  • Paid re-registration with your SETA

Applying, step by step

  1. Make sure the role, the hours and working in Midrand really suit you before you apply.
  2. Have the following on hand (clear photos on your phone are fine at first): certified copy of your highest qualification plus sample of a lesson plan or assessment guide you wrote.
  3. Fill in the short form below with your name and a phone number you actually answer.
  4. If you're shortlisted you'll hear from us within 8 working days, usually by phone.
